Over the hill at 50!

2016-10-17 23:17 | 0 kommentarer

This is a birthday card, a custom order I made a few weeks back! I usually do not want to publish a post about a card that I know has not yet been given to its recipient, I prefer to wait until I know it has been delivered!

The requests for this card; this particular stamp, pastel colors and name and year on the front of the card.

This is an older stamp, which I go back to again and again as it is very versatile. It´s from the á la Mode collection by My Favorite Things. I like to apply a coat of Glossy accents to the glass to make it look like glass! The letters are from the "Moxie" alpabeth by QuicKutz, I like the size of the letters as they are fairly small and often fits on a 6x6" card as long as the words aren´t too long!

To get the letters to be positioned straight I put the letters on my desk, the way I want them to show on the card and then put a strip of low tack adhesive tape to the front of them. ( You have to act quick as you don´t want any of the letters to move around!) Then I  apply glue to the back of the letters and position them onto the card and carefully peel of the tape.

I love the soft colors and pattern of this patterned paper and it is so much fun to use the paper piecing technique as here on the dress! This is my take on a CAS kind of card, not too busy but with lots of details! Not much coloring on this one as I didn´t need to color the dress, but where I did color I used Copic markers, and I outlined the image with dots of different shades of grey and pink for a softer look!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Welcome-baby cards!

2016-10-12 11:51 | 0 kommentarer

I totally forgot to share some sweet baby cards I made a while ago. It was a custom order for two baby cards, no special requests, other then two different cards! I decided to go with my old bunny and bear stamps from C.C Design, I use to reach for them when making this kind of cards, as they are so sweet with their little angel wings!

I made them colorful, not specific boy-ish or girl-ish, just happy colors!

I also put a couple of balloons on both cards, added a thick coat of Glossy accents for a shiny look!

All images are colored with Copic markers and Wink of Stella on their wings.

The stitched border die is from Mama Elephant from the "Landscape trio" set. The pennants are from the stamp set "Soiree" also from Mama Elephant!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Freshly made hedgehog card!

With only a few hours to go before the challenge closes I submit my card to this week´s (or last week´s?!) Freshly Made Sketches Challenge no 256!

With this sketch (above) to follow I just knew I had to put this little hedgehog on the card!

On a frosty, cold December night he is standing in the snow, wearing his warm and cozy scarf, looking up at the twinkling stars!

This is one of the cutest hedgehogs ever! Love this stamp set "Happy Hedgehogs" from Birdie Brown and My Favorite Things!

This is my first card (out of five) using this stamp set! Background is colored with Distress inks from Ranger and the stars are made by heat embossing, using the "Confetti" stencil from Heidi Swapp. For the snowy slope I used a stiched border die from the "Landscape trio" set, from Mama Elephant!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

The rule of five!

2016-10-03 12:51 | 0 kommentarer

I have a new rule in my craft room! Inspired by Anna and her CASometry Challenge. My new rule is to make five different cards when getting a new stamp set! I really like that rule, to challenge oneself to use the different stamps in a set. Usually I use one or two of the stamps, because I like them the best. But it´s only fair to give the others a try too, right?!

In my last post you can see my first card, made using this totally adorable stamp set "Woodland Wonders" from Avery Elle.      !!!
Above are all five of them, plus three tags in the upper right hand side corner!

For this card (above) I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the "Big greetings" set also from Avery Elle.

I love that the banner comes with four different coordinating sentiment stamps to chose from. Happy wishes, thank you, oh happy day and sending hugs! They are perfect for a lot of different kind of cards!

The owl is my favorite in this set, and I think the tree is super cute!

For the card above I have used the "Geometric grid" stencil from My Favorite Things for the background, with Distress ink from Ranger.

The Woodland critters are soooo cute I had to make some tags also. They are perfect as small thank you notes. The tag die I have used is from the set "Nested terrific tag dies" (a six piece set) from Bo Bunny.

All images are colored with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sending Hugs!

You know when you just fall in love with a stamp set? This is one of my recent crushes!!!     Love , love, love these little critters!

This is the "Woodland Wonders" clear stamp set from Avery Elle. I even think that the tree is cute!

At the moment I am also very much fond of The Die-namics Stitched Circle Scallop Frames from My Favorite Things! For the grass I used one of the dies in the "Landscape trio" set from Mama Elephant to get that stiched border. All images are colored with Copic markers,  behind the owl I have very carefully and light handed colored with Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Guest Star Stamper!

I have been doing my happy dance over here since last week when I was chosen as the Featured Stamper at the Color Throwdown Challenge! Yay!!!  I am so happy and excited to join the team this week!

Here´s the color palette for this week´s challenge!

Color swatch

Here´s my blinkie!

And here is my card!

The colors to use are purple, magenta, poppy red, orange, and yellow!

For this card I have used my go-to stamp when making happy and colorful cards, "Suzette" from Kraftin´Kimmie Stamps! As background I have used the "Geometric grid" stencil from My Favorite Things with Distress ink from Ranger. The image is colored with Copic markers.

I wanted some more color on this card, so I decided to go for the colors I used on the image and just drew stripes (irregular!) on a piece of cardstock and cut it into pieces to put on both sides of the image!

A day at the beach, pt 2!

This is another card I made earlier, during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge back in July. I only  uploaded it on Instagram, but not on the blog, so here is the full card!

A very CAS one layer card, love the stripes! They kind of add something special to a clean & simple card. It really is a fast and easy way to add some wow and interest!

This old (in stamp being retired!!!) beauty, "Florence" by Moonlight Whisper from Kraftin´Kimmie Stamps is one of my happy, seize the day-summer stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

This is a card I made earlier this summer, during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge back in July. I uploaded a picture of it on Instagram so you may recognize it from there, but not on my blog, so here it is!

For this card I made a simple background using Distress Ink from Ranger, on the part that is supposed to be water I added a coat of Wink of Stella to make it shimmer!

This image, Uptown Girl "Sandy" from Stampingbella is colored with Copic markers. I added a coat of Glossy accents to her sun glasses!

I finished it off with a few sequins and a hint of patterned paper!

Bellarific Friday & Brick wall!

2016-09-15 19:53 | 0 kommentarer

This is my entry for this week´s Bellarific Friday over at Stampingbella! The challenge for this week is to create your own background, and I couldn´t resist playing along, as that meant I could play with one of my new stencils. I can´t believe it took me so long to finally understand how much fun they are and the results and different ways to use them are...I guess that list can be quite long! Anyway...love stencils!!!

I thought I would color this brick wall in a non traditional brick wall color! So I went with one of my favorite colors...pink!

For this card I used these Uptown cuties "Victoria and Juliette" from Stampingbella.

The stencil "Small brick wall" is from My Favorite Things, and I colored it using Distress Ink from Ranger. The image is colored with Copic markers!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Freshly made sending hugs card!

This week I am also playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!

For this card I just had to use my newest, cutest, most adorable set of stamps...

...  "Woodland Wonders" from Avery Elle. Super cute, can´t get enough of them...

...and my newest die, Die-namics Stitched Circle Scallop Frames, from My Favorite Things. What I love about this die is that it´s a frame with the scallops turning inwards!

I altered the banner by making it longer to fit the sketch , and by doing so I was able to use both the "sending hugs" and the "happy wishes" stamps. Images colored with Copic markers, and the background is made with Distress ink from Ranger.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Santa´s little Elf!

I am playing along in this week´s Color Throwdown Challenge!

When I saw the selected colors to be used I immediately thought of this little elf cutie!

So I made another early Christmas card! I had no idea I was in such a Holiday spirit!

This little guy is colored with Copic markers, to the Christmas ornament I applied a coat of Glossy accents.

For the background I have used a Heidi Swapp stencil (love stencils!!!) and Distress Ink from Ranger. The black and white stripes is tape, also Heidi Swapp, Marquee Love.

And the little elfie is from the clear stamp set "BB Santa´s Elves" from My Favorite Things!

Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by today!

First Christmas card for 2016!

2016-09-07 13:42 | 0 kommentarer

First Christmas card for 2016 is finished!

I really wanted to give heat embossing and watercoloring a go and the other night (!) I saw a beautiful card on Instagram, featuring a gold embossed poinsettia, that inspired me.

So I heat embossed my poinsettia stamp from Penny Black using gold embossing powder from Ranger. And that alone looked so elegant! Even without color!

I dusted of my Inktense pencils, I can´t even remeber the last time I used them for a project.

I finished the card with glittery gold trimmings, a sentiment heat embossed with gold and some sequins!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Bride & Groom!

2016-09-05 23:23 | 0 kommentarer

A little while back I was asked to make a card for a wedding. Red, pink, fuchsia, white, silver and hearts were the requests for this particular card.

Almost a year ago I saw this stencil from Heidi Swapp with hearts, stars and falling snow , all-in-one, called "Confetti", but when I was ready to order it it was out of stock. A few months ago when I was ordering some goodies from Simon Says Stamp it was back in stock and I have been waiting for a card to use it on!

The Bride & Groom was purchased years ago and I have no idea what the brand of that stamp is...I like it as it is very laid back!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Playing along in this week´s Color Throwdown Challenge!

These bright and happy colors inspired me to make this card...

...a CAS one, featuring sweet Uptown Girl "Molly makes a detour", from Stampingbella.

Molly and her suitcases are colored with Copic markers!

Sunrise at the beach!

2016-08-22 23:46 | 1 kommentarer

I have a lot of colored images from the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, sitting on my desk just waiting for me to make pretty cards! This is one of them! I love this happy stamp "Beachy Keen", by Moonlight Whisper and Kraftin´Kimmie Stamps.

As I didn´t have a stencil for the rays of sun, I had to make my own by using masking paper. Below you can see that the stamped image is still covered with masking paper, but I have just removed the masking paper from the rays of sun.

This is the best part when masking an image, when you get to peel of the masking paper, and the image/images reveales itself underneath!

As it is nearly impossible to put the masking paper straight onto the image below, some final touches may be needed, to color the gaps!

The image is colored with Copic markers, as is the beach. I used Distress Ink for the rays of sun, and finished the card with some sequins and polka dots on her bikini!

Thank you for stopping by today!
