The Gardener!

2020-02-27 13:16 | 0 kommentarer

This card was so much fun to make!
I had this idea of a garland of flowers behind
Curvy Girl ”Gardener” from Stampingbella!

I cut a panel of Neenah Solar white to stamp my images on.
This card required a lot of masking! I made two masks
for the flower stamps, both sizes, and one mask for my
curvy girl. I started out by stamping the curvy girl,
applied the mask, to be able to stamp some flowers
behind her. I continued to stamp the flowers in a garland
shape, some behind and some in front of each other!

I colored the images with Copic markers. I often color a
blue shadow behind my colored images but this time I
decided to go with a light warm contour to make the
images pop! I grounded her using quite dark grey Copics.

I die cut a rectangle from my panel, using a stitched
rectangle die,
I adhered the remaining ”frame” onto a piece
of cardstock
the same size as the frame.

I used the same stitched die to cut a piece of black fun
foam for some dimension and to get a black edge! I adhered
the fun foam to the panel using double sided tape.

But sadly and super annoying, a few days after I had
mailed this card I discovered, when making another card that
the foam doesn´t work very well with my double sided tape
as it doesn´t hold on and started to come loose in several
places, even though I put the panels under a heavy box to
let the glue bond with the foam and the cardstock…

I adhered the large panel to a black slightly larger panel
to get a black outline matching the foam and finished
the card adhering it to my cardbase!

Next time I will use several panels for dimension
and a pop of color to make sure it won´t come off!

Reach for the stars!

Hi there!

Love slimline card designs!
And I just love the "Balloon bunch buddies", by
Clearly Besotted! And they make the perfect match!

They are the cutest bunch of critters and it
makes me happy just looking at them!

This little gang is flying high, some are
holding on to that balloon string, some are
tied to it with knots and bows!

The images and the shading were colored with
Copic markers, the sentiment comes with the stamp set!

I applied some Wink of Stella to the
balloon and glued a few wooden stars to the
panel, to go with the sentiment!

I often find it hard to find matching envelopes for
my slimline cards, so I decided to make one myself.
It was quite easy, but for this card I needed to use two
A4 size papers and that complicated things a bit!
I will make another slimline card, slightly smaller and
make an envelope using only one A4 size
paper and do a tutorial on that!

Winter wishes!

2020-02-18 15:44 | 0 kommentarer

One of my goals for 2020 is to make Christmas cards
throughout the year, well January to September that is, as
I usually start working on my Christmas cards in October.

Today I share the two cards I made for February!

The wreath is a digi stamp, "Winter wishes" from
Graciellie design! I colored it with Copi markers,
using a new to me pink color combo for the poinsettias,
RV66-55-52 and V000. Love how soft it is, just the perfect pinks!

I cut it out using my Scan n Cut, I fussy cut the inside!

I die cut a panel using a stitched rectangle die from MFT,
blended Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet
oxide inks. After letting the panel dry I stamped the sentiment
and heat embossed it using a fine  embossing powder
from Ranger. To finish the panel I splashed droplets of water to it!

I assembled layers of cardstock, using white and a soft
gold, to match the heat embossed sentiment, to the
card base. I adhered the wreath to the pink panel using
foam dots for some dimension. I applied Wink of Stella
to the poinsettias for a beautiful shimmer!

The sentiment stamp is from Gummiapan, it came
with the 2019 stamp advent calender and is
unfortunately not available for purchase.

Pearls in my hair!

I have wanted this digi stamp "Pearls in my hair",
by A day for daisies for such a long time!

I finally bought it a while back but haven´t had the time to color
it until a few days ago! This was my second try and I realise I need to
practice shadows on the spine and the shoulder blades, other
than that I love how it turned out!

The sentiment stamp is from the "Fancy sayings" set by
Clearly Besotted, the corners and dots stamp is from the
"FaDoodles"  clear stamp set by Whimsy Stamps.

The image and the blue shadow were colored with Copic markers.

Hello crafty friends!

I have a clean and simple card to share today!
The cute bunny is from the
"McGregor´s garden" set, by Hello Bluebird.

I have colored her with Copic markers and I
applied a little Stickles to the grass!

I have used a stitched frame, the "Gallery frame #1 die",
also by Hello Bluebird, and the scallop die is the
"Reverse stitched scallop rectangle window die", by Lawn Fawn.

Many everyday messages!

I just couldn´t resist these cute critters from the
"Love notes" set by Clearly Besotted! They will be
perfect for so many occasions and cards!

I made two cards, the green/turquoise one with birthdays
messages and the orange/red/purple one with just because,
big hugs, thinking of you messages! All sentiments are from
the "Many everyday messages" by Hero Arts.

The post-it note is from the "Sticky notes" set by
Mama Elephant. And the little "Hi" comes with Tiny Townie
"Penelope has a pencil" from Stampingbella.

I heat embossed the sentiments on my two panels,
when cooled off I blended
Distress inks Twisted Citron,
Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers on one of the panels.
Spiced Marmalade, Festive Berries and Wilted Violet on the
other. I used my ink blending tool as I think they are easier to
work with when you want to blend a little more heavily.

I use my blending brushes when I want to fade the ink
seamlessly into a white cardstock.

I stamped, masked, colored the images and cut them out
with my Scan n Cut. And then adhered the post-it notes
to the panels using foam dots for some dimension!
