Spring Birthday Girl!

2018-04-18 22:25 | 0 kommentarer

Today I share another birthday card made using Uptown Girl
"Brittany the birthday girl" from Stampingbella!

I had to try my brand new Copic markers on the dress!

This blue-ish/green combo is so beautiful and soft and it gave
the dress a feeling of spring, like faded denim! I added lots and lots
of clear Spectrum noir, to get a beautiful shimmer on the dress!

These very simple flowers, attached to the panel with brads are
made using punches. I usually just punch out two layers and very
carefully curl the top layer petals.

On this card I punched out two layers of paper for each flower,
the bottom petals in black cardstock and the upper ones in patterned paper,
I then glued two petals together to get more sturdy flowers.

I am so pleased with how it turned out, and I like the fact that
you just get a glimpse of the black bottom petals!

I always attach the inside panels last one the cards I am sending and
write my greetings on it before attaching it to the card,
if I mess it up in some way, its easy to just cut new panels!

Copics used for the dress: B 12-24-28, G 00-02-17

Personalized Stamps!

2018-04-15 18:08 | 0 kommentarer

I have wanted a new personalized stamp for the back of
my cards for so long, but couldn´t decide how I wanted it to look...
The only thing I was sure about was that I wanted my blog name on it.
I went back and forth whether to add my name and my Instagram name or not...

At last I decided to go with my name, my blog name, blog adress
and Instagram name and I am sooo happy with how it turned out!

I love the scripty font on "my piece of paper" and that the rest is strict!
So happy with it that I had to get matching adress stamps for my envelopes too!

I ordered my custom stamps from the
Swedish company Rox Stamps.

The customer service is excellent, Anna-Lena was so quick to
respond to all my questions and requests by e-mail!
You can order directly from the web site if you are a customer
from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland or Åland.

Customers from other countries, please contact Anna-Lena by e-mail! www.roxstamps.se

As my street adress contains letters that are not common in
every language, like the Swedish letter ä, I ordered two stamps
for the envelopes, one for the cards I send to Swedish recipients and
one without the dots with just an a, for recipients in other countries,
and on that one I added Sweden as well!

You have a choice of getting your stamp made of rubber or
photopolymer (it looks like a clear stamp but needs to be mounted
to ez mount to be able to attach to an acrylic block).
The stamps I ordered are made of rubber.

The orders for the rubber stamp option are placed with the
manufacturer around the 30th of the month.

When ordering a custom stamp ask for a proof,
and it goes without saying that it is super important to spell check
the proof as this is a personalized item which can´t be returned or refunded.

Birthday Fairy!

I adore these cute little fairies from Whimsy stamps!
I like that these images are detailed but not too
busy and that the details are not too tiny!

This is "Fairy Gifts for You"!
So easy to make a CAS card with this sweet heart!

Image and background colored with Copic markers!
Lots of glitter added to the wings!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Balloon Bunny!

2018-04-09 13:11 | 0 kommentarer

How adorable is this little bunny?!!!
Hanging on to his balloon high up in the fluffy clouds!
This cutie is from the "Bunny Balloons" set from Whimsy Stamps!

When coloring grey I always use my cool grey Copics,
but for this image I tried my warm greys and I really like the result
as it turned out softer compared to the cool tones.

I have to remember to bring out the warm grey markers more often!

I added some barely there clouds in the background, using a cloud
stencil from Hero Arts, Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and a Mini Ink Blending tool.

I also had to add polka dots to the balloon with a white gel pen!

Birthday Girl Brittany!

2018-04-06 12:12 | 0 kommentarer

A lot of birthdays are coming up!
Time to get into that Birthday card making mode!

When making a card step one is always deciding
what colors I want for the image, then I go through my patterned
papers to find some that match my colored image.

I have, especially when participating in previous
30 Day Coloring Challenges, ended up with lots of colored images,
tried to get those colored images into cards...
But I don´t like making cards like that, that process doesn´t work for me!
That´s why I decided to color tags for the last 30 Day Coloring Challenge!

Chosing colors for that special card I am about to make is always
so much fun, should I go with soft, muted colors or bright and vivid ones?

For this card I decided to go with soft, muted tones of blue´s and grey´s
and wanted an additional color to compliment and pop
and found this beautiful soft red-ish patterned paper to go with my colored image!

The soft background is colored with Distress Inks,
unfortunately I don´t remember which color I used other than
Hickory Smoke, the other one might have been Tumbled Glass....

Image is Uptown Girl "Brittany" from Stampingbella,
she is colored with Copic markers.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I whish you a great weekend!

Welcome babies card!

2018-04-04 10:47 | 0 kommentarer

I was asked to make a baby (babies for twins!) card and dug
out this cute stork stamp from the "Plus one" set from Lawn Fawn.
Maybe they would be great on tags as well?!)

I didn´t want to color the whole background, just a little something...
as I was aiming for a sort of CAS look, so I added some barely
there clouds using a cloud stencil from Hero Arts, Distress ink
Tumbled Glass (used together with a light hand and a sponge dauber)
and a coat of Wink of Stella for shimmer!

I couldn´t resist adding polka dots to the pink blankets!

Images colored (very little coloring on this card!) with Copic markers.

Emboss resist challenge!

2018-04-02 22:42 | 4 kommentarer

There is a new challenge over at the Create a smile blog!

The emboss resist challenge means that its time to
play with Distress Inks, embossing powder and
my Create a smile stamps!

So far I only own one set of stamps
from Create a smile, the "Doctor´s Helpers" set, so there
is no question what to use for this challenge!

For this emboss resist card I have used black ink,
clear embossing powder, Distress Inks in Spun Sugar,
Picked Raspberry and Festive Berries, and my heat tool.

I was trying to create an ombré effect with the Distress Inks!
Sorry for the bad photos, the embossing was reflecting in
the flash of the camera, but at the same time you can
see that the outlines of the images are heat embossed!

I started out stamping the foxes in the middle and the sentiment underneath,
then I just randomly stamped the band aids and the pills...
it wasn´t until I was all finished that I noticed there were veeeery many pills!

This was such a different card for me to make, not using Copic markers!

Spring has sprung challenge!

It has been a while since I participated in a challenge,
the other day I came across the Card Concept Challenge,
and this is my first time submitting!

I am joining The Card Concept #89 {Spring has Sprung} Challenge!!!
Above is the inspiration photo, below is my card!

For this card I have used Uptown Girl "Reilly" from Stampingbella.
It is the only stamp I own with a chair!

Image is colored with Copic markers and the circle
background is colored with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass.

Thank you for stopping by!

Big cake birthday card!

Uptown girl "Bianca has a big cake" from Stampingbella
is the perfect lady for birthday greetings!

Why? This stamp is good size and not busy with too many details!

First card using this stamp for my new card size!

Colored with Copic markers, black ink used is Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Cat & fish!

2018-03-23 10:56 | 0 kommentarer

I adore these cute Basik & Co kittens from ScrapBerry´s!
Just look at his little face!

When planning this card I immediately knew
I had to let the fish hang from a line!

I even think the fish are adorable, all different patterns and looks!
I let one of them fell down into the puddle of water!

I chose to color the images in quite muted colors, green, aqua and grey.

I drew the puddle of water free hand, all images were colored with Copic markers.

This card is now listed in my Etsy shop.

Hello there!

2018-03-19 12:37 | 0 kommentarer

This card makes me feel like spring is finally on its way!

I used Miss March, one of the Thoroughly modern Misses,
a digi stamp from Lily of The Valley, for this card

Instead of the leather pants I colored for my last Miss March card I
decided that she´ll wear a pair of jeans this time, a pink cardigan
with white polka dots and a grey top with red hearts!

It was so much fun coloring her outfit, it always reminds
me of the paper dolls I played with when I was little!

I colored Miss March with Copic markers, the dots were made using a
white gel pen and the background was colored with Distress inks!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Little ballerinas!

2018-03-13 12:26 | 0 kommentarer

How adorable are these little ballerinas?!!!
They are so much fun to color, with lots of skin, hair and a pretty dress!

And a great thing...this is a free digi stamp from All Dressed Up!

The polka dots on the tutus are made using a white gel pen.
My white gel pens dont´t seem to last very long, they tend to dry out
in no time. I always have to have a spare pen just in case...

I think polka dots make everything prettier!

Images and backgrounds are colored with Copic markers.

As you may notice looking a little closer I did color the backgrounds a
little different from each other, but using the same markers.
I used B 00-01-02 for the outline and C01-03 , for the ground.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday Cats!

2018-03-09 11:41 | 0 kommentarer

Today I have two birthday cards to share!
Made using the same stamps from Basik & Co,
but the layout, design and colors differs a little.

I like black details and on this first card I added a thin
strip of black cardstock in between the image and the dotted paper.

I matted it on a turqouise piece of
cardstock, to go with the outlines of the images!

I added a thick layer of Stickles to the frosting of the cake.

On this card I matted the image and striped patterned paper
on black cardstock, and then on turquoise!

On this card I colored the cake pink, and added some Stickles!

I adore these cats and I love the cherry on top of the cake!

All images are colored with Copic markers,
the sentiments on both cards are from the
"Many Everyday Messages" set from Hero Arts.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hello, city girl!

2018-03-05 12:58 | 0 kommentarer

 I have been making 14 x 14 cm (5.5" x 5.5") size cards with very
few exceptions for the last 10 years. (And mini cards of course!)

Now I have started making cards in for me a new size!
I have purchased beautiful colorful enevelopes from MFT
to fit my "new" cards!

I love my square cards and I will of course alter between these sizes,
but right now it feels so different and fun making cards
in 10.5 x 13.5 cm (4 3/8" x 5 3/4") size!

This pretty lady is a digi stamp from Lily of The Valley, Miss March.
I colored the brick wall using the "Small brick wall" stencil from MFT
with Distress Ink, Picked Raspberry which I faded out to white on the cardstock.

The brick wall was a perfect match to her outfit!
First I tried her standing on a green grassy field with a clear
blue sky behind but felt she was more of a city girl and
that she needed a more city like background!

A new to me card size, first time coloring pants with a
leather look and her cardigan and first time coloring leopard print!

Miss March is colored with Copic markers!

Copics used for the pants: R 22-27-59, C7 and a white pencil for the highlights.

Thank you for stopping by!

Tag dies!

2018-03-01 17:12 | 0 kommentarer

Today I share which dies I use for my tags.

This was the first tag die I purchased, even though it looks quite
big in the photo it is pretty small, it measures 4.75 x 8.25 cm,
(3 1/4 x 1 4/5 inch).

Below is a tag made with that "Embellished tag" from Mama Elephant.

Next is a set called "Terrific tag" from Bo Bunny,
a set of six dies, all the same shape, in six different sizes.

So far I have only been using the two larger ones.
What I like most about it is the size of the largest one, as it
measures 7 x 11 cm (2.75 x 4.25 inch), the second largest
measures 5,75 x 9.25 cm ( 2.2 x 3.6 inch)

Below is a tag made using the largest die from the set.

I adore the next set, "Decorative Tag set" from Gina K
as it has these stitches along the edges and that it
comes in four different sizes and shapes.

I have only been using the two larger ones as
the smaller have been too small for my projects.

The largest measures  5.75 x 10 cm (2.5 x 4 inch)
and the second largest measures 4.25 x 8 cm (1.625 x 3.125 inch).

Below is a tag made using the largest die...

...and below is a tag made using the second largest.

The last set on my list is my latest purchase and I
feel like I have my need of tag dies covered for now!

This fantastic set "Tag along die collection" is from Clearly Besotted Stamps.
At first glance I felt that it was a bit pricey, but I soon decided that I "needed" it!

When I received it I quickly realized that it is amazing!
This is a 10 piece set and the possibilities are almost endless!

The tags are good size, 6 x 10 cm ( 2.3 x 3.93 inch), three
different shapes, all of them with stiched edges.
You can also die cut stitched rectangles, squares, a heart and and even a bow!

And the coolest thing about this set... you can use the tag just as it is
or alter the lower part die cutting a fish tale or a curve!!!
It required a little measuring before I got it right, but the result is the coolest!!!

When realizing all the possibilities that comes with this
die set it don´t seem pricey anymore!

Below is a tag made using the fish tail and the heart shaped die...

And below are the three different shapes from this fabulous die set!

(All images were colored with Copic markers.)
