Camp Create, day 4!

2019-08-19 16:42 | 0 kommentarer

Day 4 of Camp Create, session 2!

Today´s craft: "Monocromatic Magic", using a
monochromatic color scheme, varying the
shade and intensity of the color.

A background stamp would have been perfect today
as well, but I made my own background this time too!
My first thought was to go with pink, but I didn´t find
pink cardstock that really matched, so I chose
golden/beige/soft brown/kraft instead. This time I used the
”Happy Hedgehogs” stamp set by Birdie Brown/MFT.

I started by cutting two pieces of cardstock, one beige and the
other soft brown the same size. I positioned my selected
stamps in my Misti and stamped both of my cardstock using
embossing ink. I sprinkled golden embossing powder
on them
and heated them with my heat gun. I then cut both papers into
super important to cut the same sizes.
I then assembled the strips adhering them to a piece of
cardstock , taking turns with the two colors until they were
back to the same size I started with. The card panel is now in
two different colors! I die cut the panel using a stitched
rectangle, and I mounted it down to the card base.

The example card had a hello die with a coordinating shadow
layer die. It looked quite fancy, so I had to give it a try!
I used an MFT "hello" die and made a shadow
layer for my hello using my Scan n Cut, by choosing a 3mm edge
around the it! I assembled them and ahered them to the card!

One more day of Camp to go!

Pineapples & watermelons, no 3!

2019-08-18 17:36 | 0 kommentarer

This is card no 3 made for Isabel Cristina using the
"Pineapples & Watermelon ” digi stamp set.

How cute is this bunny holding a slice of pineapple!

So many cute cards can be made  using this stamp set,
it comes with lots of images and sentiments!

You´ll find this digi set in Isabel´s Etsy store

This is the same image I used for card no 1, I resized the
image a little bigger as it was going to be the only image and
focal point on this card! I colored him (or her?!) with Copic
markers and ran the image through my Scan n Cut.

I colored a watercolor paper panel with Liquid watercolor
from Avery Elle, in color Mimosa, as a backdrop for the bunny.
I adhered the bunny using foam dots, for some dimension.

Looking through my pile of patterned papers I found one
that matched the pineapple, I adhered it directly on the card base!

Camp Create, day 3!

Day 3 of Camp Create, session 2!

Today´s craft: "Background Bonanza"!
Vibrant color and a bold sentiment are the name of the
game today, a background that
makes a statement.

I have been wanting to learn how to make awesome watercolor-ish
backgrounds for so long and the other day I saw a gorgeous
card on Instagram by Mellisa, and I reached out to her for tips & tricks!

So, this is a Distress Oxide Ink smoosh background!
Colors used were, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmelade.
Love this technique! I am obviously very late to this ink smooshing
party as I have seen it around for ever! This was sooo much fun!

The saying is from the MFT stamp set "Anything-but-Basic Friendship",
and I used the Moxie Alphabet from Quickutz. I added a little
elephant from the MFT "
Adorable Elephants" stamp set by Birdie Brown
to add some cuteness! The elephant was colored with Copic markers!

Camp Create, day 2!

Day 2 of Camp Create, session 2.

Today´s craft is ”Magnificent Masking”. And emboss resist
coloring. Another challenging challenge as I own two
background stamps only, one of them is polka dots
and that didn´t excite me at all for this task.

So I decided to make my own background stamp/ing,
using the mice from the ”It´s a mice time to celebrate” set by
Stacey Yacula/MTF, and I added som mini circles from the
”Friendly Florals” set from Neat & Tangled, as there were too
much empty, white space in between the images.

My idea was to mask and emboss resist/highlight
the mouse in the bottom right hand corner.

To start this masking/emboss resist process I positioned the
stamps I had chosen in my Stamp platform,
I used a grey ink for my first layer of stamping.

I then took a post-it note and die cut a circle in the center.
I placed the die cut post-it note over the mouse that was
to be embossed, inked up the selected mouse stamp with
black ink this time, removed the post-it note, sprinkled on some
embossing powder in clear and heated it with my heat gun.

I placed the post-it note in the same place as before and
some strips of painter´s tape to cover a little bit
more of the card panel,
to not accidentaly stain
any Distress ink where I didn´t want it!

I was inspired by counselar Stephanie´s colorful cards and I
blended Distress Inks in the circle of my mask,
I used Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Picked
Raspberry, Candied Apple and Mustard Seed.

As I didn´t have a colorful patterned paper the same colors
I decided to do some ink blending directly on the front of my
card base, using the same Distress ink colors I used in the circle.

I adhered the stamped and colored card panel to the
card base, using foam dots for some dimension.

Camp Create, day 1!

2019-08-14 00:02 | 0 kommentarer

Hi there!

Camp Create, session 2!

This is the first time I´m playing along with MFT´s
Camp Create
. I missed out on the first session a
few weks ago but now I will try my best to keep up
and participate in the craft sessions each
day and earn the Camp Create badges

The challenge  for the first day of camp was ”Inlaid made easy”,
inlaid die cutting... This really was a challenge…
it took me several times until I was happy with my card as
I did the die cutting in the wrong order.

As I don´t own lots of fun standalone dies, I had to figure a scene
out using a grass die, a cloud die for my trees, a heart and a hello die.
I colored the different elements with Distress inks and Distress Oxide inks.

The grass die is "Grassy hills" from MFT, the cloud/tree die is from
the "Landscape Trio" die set from Mama Elephant,
the heart die is from the"Tag Along Die Collection" set from
Clearly Besotted and the "Hello" die is from MFT.

Above is my badge for day 1 of Camp!

I am so happy with how this card finally turned
out, this really is a cool technique!

Party time!

Hi there!

Today I share a card I made for Isabel Cristina,
using the "Dance and music" digital stamp set!

This is a really cute and fun set with lots of critters
playing different instruments! You´ll find this set
and so many more in Isabel´s Etsy store!

image 1

I layered the monkeys and the mouse holding the microphone,
if you are curious
how I layer images in a Word document
on my PC, please
see my blog post from a few months back!

I printed the images and colored them with Copic markers,
ran them through my Scan n Cut, quick and easy!

I blended Distress Oxide inks Cracked Pistachio and
Peacock Feathers, for my background and frame, using
the "Gallery frame #1 die" from Hello Bluebird.
I also die cut a piece of black cardstock to get the black
inlay/dividers. I adhered the images with doublesided
tape and some glue, no foam dots on this one!

A day at the beach!

2019-08-07 20:56 | 0 kommentarer

This is a combined just because/thank you card,
made using one of my newest Curvy girls!

My main idea for this card was colorful!
And I wanted to create a beach scene and I also wanted
to use my new pennant stamp! A lot to fit on an A2 size card!

I stamped the Curvy girl (loves the beach), from Stampingbella
and the sentiment, wich comes with the stamp on a Neenah
Solar White 110lb paper. I have been using the cheaper ”Vision Pro”
paper from Office Depot for coloring for years but have decided to
use premium paper from now on, so I purchased (treated myself to)
half a ream of Neenah! What a difference, the colors are
more vibrant and they blend beautifully! What is the point
in trying to color the best you can and not have a great paper…

I have invested lots of money on my Copics and felt I
just had to invest in a premium paper as well.

Nowadays I tend to make mostly A2 size cards,
that means when I cut a paper in four, I now have
Neenah paper to make LOTS of cards!

Well, back to the card! I die cut a piece of Neenah, using a
stitched rectangle from MFT, to fit the size of my card.
I then stamped the Curvy girl and the sentiment (it comes
with the stamp) to the die cut panel. I colored the image
and the beach scene with Copic markers.

The pennant, ”Small line of pennants” from Gummiapan
was stamped and colored on a piece of Neenah, I chose
the same colors for the pennants as I used for the Curvy
girl and the beach scene! I did purchase the coordinating
die to this stamp and when finished coloring I ran it through
my Cuttlebug. This pennant stamp comes in two sizes, I have
the smaller one, but for this card design it was too
long so I decided to cut it in two pieces and placed one
of them on the front and the other one inside of the
card! Its always such a nice surprise to find
image or an
embellishment on the inside of a card!

Ballerina bunnies!

2019-08-05 21:54 | 0 kommentarer

Today I share a set of three cards made using the
”Ballerina Bunnies” stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.

I love these cute ballet dancing bunnies, wearing adorable tutu´s!
And of course I couldn´t help but coloring them pink!
The obvious choice of color for a tutu if you ask me!

The bunnies were colored with Copic markers.
I cut them out using my Scan n Cut.

The sentiments are from the
”Brushed wishes” set from Stampendous.

I made a super simple background, the same for each bunny.
A circle, colored with Distress Oxide inks Spun Sugar and
Picked Raspberries, blended with a mini blending tool.

I adhered foam dots to the bunnies and placed
them on the pink circles! Finished by stamping
the sentiments just under the circles.

I applied a coat of Wink of Stella to the pink circles for
a subtle shimmer, it is a little hard to see in the
photos but they do shimmer beautifully!

Ocean worth of hugs!

This card was made for Isabel Cristina using the most
adorable and fun digi stamps, from the "Mermaid 2019" set!

This under water themed stamp set comes with
so many images and several sentiments as well!

image 1

It´s now available in Isabel´s Etsy store!

I layered the mermaid and the rock she is sitting on!
If you are curious
how I layer images in a Word document
on my PC, please
see my blog post from a few months back!

I duplicated some of the images and made the fish, the corals,
the sea weed and the crabs different sizes. I colored the images with
Copic markers and cut them out with my Scan n Cut.

The background was made of a square piece of cardstock.
I cut it in four pieces
using one of the hill borders from the
"Landscape trio" die set from
Mama Elephant, to create
the sand on the bottom of the sea and the water.

The sand was colored with Copics and the water was colored
with Distress Inks, I used the "Sun ray" stencil from MFT to
make the rays. I placed the stencil over my blue piece of cardstock,
took a baby wipe over the stencil, which bleached the ink and
created rays of sun through the water! I also splashed some
droplets of water to it to look like bubbles!

Stickles was applied to the mermaid´s tail and bra!

I placed one of the sentiments on the inside of the card,
and placed a little red crab on there too! I think it´s such a
nice surprise when you find images on the inside of a card!

Hi there!

Sometimes, just spending some quality time
with good friends is the only therapy you need,
I saw this saying on Instagram and instantly knew
I needed to make a special card for a special person.

I paired the saying with my favorite critter, the
adorable raccoon from the
"Fly a kite" set from
Hello Bluebird. I printed the saying on a Copic friendly
paper, stamped the raccoon and the kite.

Images and the dirt grey shading and the
turquoise ground, were colored with Copic markers.

The recipient of this card is not a pink person,
so I choose grey, green and turquoise instead!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Beach fun!

2019-07-28 23:09 | 1 kommentarer

Today´s card is all about fun at the beach!

I made this card for Isabel Cristina using the
"Beach fun" stamp set! This digi stamp set comes with several
cute bears, beach houses, sentiments and other fun beach stuff!

image 1

You´ll find this digi stamp set in Isabel´s Etsy store!

I chose to use the bear with the unicorn float and
the beach houses for my card. As I was going to place
the bear in the water and I didn´t want his legs to show as
they are under the water, I cropped the image before printing it out.

I colored the images with Copic markers and cut them
out with my Scan n Cut, ready to go on my card!

I made the background by die cutting a piece of white cardstock
using a Stitched rectangle die, from MFT. I cut it in three pieces
using one of the hill borders from the "Landscape trio" die set from
Mama Elephant, to create the water line and the beach.

The water and the sand were colored with Copics and the
sky was colored with Distress Inks and some droplets of water!

When assembling the scene I placed the beach houses
behind the sand dune to create some distance from the water!

Pineapples & watermelons, no 2!

2019-07-25 23:01 | 0 kommentarer

I have made three cards using the "Pineapples & watermelon"
digi stamp set for Isabel Cristina, today I share card no. 2!

As you can see, this stamp set comes
with lots of bunnies and sentiments!

You´ll find this digi set in Isabel´s Etsy store

I was inspired by Keeway's beautiful Christmas card, with
stripes in different colors! I thought it would be perfect as
background for my melon card. I colored the background with
Distress inks, I masked them one at a time,
stripe by stripe, using painter´s tape!

The bunny and melon were colored with Copic markers!

The "hello" is a die cut from the "Gallery Frame #1"
die from
Hello Bluebird.

Hi there!

Hi there!

Some occasions require florals and not just cute critters,
today I share two cards, a little different from each other but
pretty much a like as I have used the same stamps on both of them.

I have used the "Friendly Florals" stamp set from
Neat & Tangled and the "Greetings" stamp set from Ranger.

No pink this time!!!
I think that both of these cards (colors) are quite
masculine as they aren´t "too cute" and girlie!

I colored the images and the shadows with Copic markers.

I added tiny drops of Stickles to the some of the buds and
to the center of the largest flowers for some sparkle.

Pineapples & watermelons no.1!

2019-07-18 22:51 | 0 kommentarer

This card was made for Isabel Cristina, using her brand
new digi stamp set called Pineapples & Watermelons

You might recognize her trade mark bunnies by now!
That is one thing I love about her stamps, that the characters
keeps coming back! And these bunnies are my favorites!

As you can see, this set comes with lots of
different bunnies and sentiments, and aren´t the
little pineapple slice (far left) just the cutest!

You´ll find this digi set in Isabel´s Etsy store

I layered the bunny holding the pineapple slice with the
bunny behind the big pineapple. If you are curious
how I layer images in a Word document on my PC, please
see my blog post from a few months ago!

I colored the images and then cut them out
using my Scan n Cut. For the background
panel I blended Distress inks, Tumbled glass and
Moved lawn and added some droplets of water!

The "hello" is a die cut from the "Gallery Frame #1" die from
Hello Bluebird. I wanted to add something extra to this
card, and when looking through my drawers I found these
sequins I haven´t use in a while, they were perfect
embellishments for this happy pineapple card!

Hi there!

For today´s card I have used the Uptown Girls Snapshots
Minis stamps. I used three of the four stamps from the set,
as I couldn´t fit all four into my design.

This set to me is all about love, friendship and girl power, I love it!

I colored the images with Copic markers and the soft
shadow behind the polaroids was also colored with Copics.

I fussy cut the polaroids, the one in the middle was adhered
to the cardstock with double sided tape and on the other
two I used foam dots to get some dimension!

The sentiment is from the "Handwritten borders" set from Simon Says Stamp.
