Happy New Year!

2017-01-03 18:50 | 0 kommentarer

Happy New Year, and very best wishes for a beautiful and creative 2017!

I am starting this new year with a birthday card I actually made a few weeks back, in December!

For this card I have been using my most favorite  Uptown Girl stamp, "Brittany", from Stampingbella. Love her hair, her dress , the gigant bow, the cake...well you could say I love everything about this stamp! She is colored with Copic markers.

I needed the name and year on the card but kind of subtle, so I die cut the numbers and letters in white card stock and if you look closely also dark pink. It does not show well in these photos, but I glued the pink ones underneath the white ones, to get just a hint of dimension.

As icing on the cake (!) I applied some glitter glue for some birthday sparkle!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Hedgehog tags!

I almost forgot to share these tags I made a while ago!

As I am totally in love with this cute little hedgehog I have used him for many
different occasions, like cards, tags and match boxes!

He is from the "Happy Hedgehogs" stamp set, from My Favorite Things! The background/sky is made using Distress inks and I have heat embossed the stars, using the "Confetti" stencil from Heidi Swapp. For the slope with a stitched border I used one of the border dies from the "Landscape Trio" set from Mama Elephant. The tag die is from the "Terrific tag" die set from Bo Bunny.

The hedgehogs are colored with Copic markers!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Grey poinsettias!

2016-12-15 15:29 | 1 kommentarer

All my Christmas cards are done and on their way! Yay!
Today I share the last Christmas card for this year! I needed to make a CAS Christmas card in white, silver and grey.

The outlines on the poinsettias were heat embossed using embossing powder in silver. For coloring the petals I used Copic markers in different shades of grey, C7, C4, C2 and C1.

The poinsettia stamp is from Penny Black and the sentiment stamp is from the stamp set "Christmas Wishes" from Stampendous. I framed the sentiment using a silver gel pen, to match the heat embossed out lines of the poinsettias.

Flamingo Holiday tags!

2016-12-13 12:02 | 0 kommentarer

I wanted to make some non traditional Holiday tags, and I came up with these!

I love pink and flamingos, and just added a red Santa hat for him and a red flower behind the ear (!) for her!

The flamingo set is "Flamingo together" from Lawn Fawn.

I heat embossed the sentiment (says merry Christmas and Happy New Year in Swedish), to get a shiny finish. Added some distress ink, tumbled glass, over the sentiment to get some depth and background.

To finish the tags I added a red ribbon to each of them!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Cute match boxes!

2016-12-08 22:49 | 0 kommentarer

I have a thing for decorating match boxes! I always have a cute match box on my mantel, ready for burning candles and lighting a fire!

These match box toppers are really tiny! Only about 4,5 x 9 cm, but that is the challenge, to make the images come alive on these tiny little pieces of paper!

They are perect as small gifts!

Hedgehog stamps from My Favorite Things, the penguins are from Mama Elephant and the cute kittens are from Paperie Ink. Background coloring made using Distress Inks and the images are colored with Copic markers.

These two are gift wrapped in clear cellophan!

Poinsettia tags and cards!

2016-11-28 18:54 | 0 kommentarer

I like it when an image is stamped slightly off the piece of card stock. And that was the technique I was practicing when making these Holiday tags! The die is from Bo Bunny, and the "Nested terrific tag die" set.

The poinsettia stamp is from the "Holiday Favorites" set from Stampendous, I have had it for years and seldom use it. But when making these tags and cards this poinsettia was perfect as it is rather small in size.

To get more interest and detail I drew framing lines around the sentiment, which says Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in Swedish.

The poinsettias are colored with Copic markers and I like the contrast with the pinks, turquoises and the dirty cool grey tones!

Making the cards required a little bit of masking and I let the petals go ouside of the white card stock.

On the cards I drew framing lines around the greetings and sentiments.

For the sentiments on the cards I used two different stamps from the "Christmas Wishes" set, from Stampendous. A set with four different beautiful sentiment stamps.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Christmas Cat Tags!

2016-11-23 19:14 | 2 kommentarer

I am about to send Happy mail to my dearest friend! I will be sending these Christmas tags for her to use on some of her Christmas gifts!

Super easy tags to make and I am so pleased with how they turned out, love the dramatic color combination of black and red together with the cute kittens!

I have been playing with kittens both from the "BB Cool cat" set, from My favorite Things and the "Kittens" set from Paperie Ink.

The brick wall is made using the "Small brick wall" stencil, from My Favorite Things, white ink and a sponge dauber! I used the "Pure white" pigment ink from Avery Elle,as it dries slowly I heat set it with my heat gun.

The Merry Christmas sentiment, is from the "On thin ice" set from Clearly Besotted, the paw print is from the "Puppie" set  from Paperie Ink. The kittens were stamped, colored, fussy cut and glued onto the tags. The accessories, like the hats and scarves I have "borrowed" from other stamps! The tag die is from Bo Bunny, love the soft, rounded shape of it!

All images are colored using Copic markers.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Penguins and frosty snow flakes!

2016-11-18 23:23 | 0 kommentarer

Today I share my card from yesterday´s coloring for the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge!
I posted a little peek of it on Instagram, and here is the full card!

Nowadays I use much less patterned papers than I use to do, but I still love to buy those 6x6 pads just because the papers are so pretty! I find that I often use narrow strips, just to get a splash of color, therefor my pads last way much longer than they used to!

One of Kristina Werner´s card was my inspiration when making this card. She used snow flake dies, to cut the masking paper. As I don´t have any snow flake dies I used snow flake punches instead, the result was about the same, but Kristinas dies were more intricate and very beautiful, and my snow flakes are just, well, more regular ones!

I positioned my masking paper snow flakes and then blended Distress Inks for the sky. When done, I removed the masking paper and there were my snow flakes embedded in the Distress Ink sky!

This could have been a one-layer card if I had taken the time to stamp the hats first, but that  would have taken forever to finish this card! So they were stamped separately , fussy cut and glued on to the penguins! I also wanted them to skate on an icy pond, made using Copic marker BG10 and Glossy accents! To finish off the card I added some Stickles to the snow flakes! The very little coloring I did on the penguins was made using Copic markers!

Reindeer down the slope!

2016-11-15 19:41 | 0 kommentarer

Day 15 already of the 30 Day Color Challenge! Today I managed both coloring and a card!
I have been so much in to pink lately, and the reindeer on today´s card wears a pink scarf and has pink skis also! And a pink Christmas tree ornament hanging from the antlers!

The reindeer stamp is from Stämpelgården.

To make the slope and the background sky I masked the reindeer and the "slope", using stamping mask paper from Inkadinkado.
I think the masking paper is a little easier and smoother to work with compared to Post it notes that I usually use.
The best thing about masking an image and color the background is when you get to remove that masking paper!
The image that pops out from behind that masking paper usually looks a lot different than before without the background!

I used Distress Inks for the sky, I blended Tumled Glass and Broken China.

I added polka dots both to the scarf and to the skis, which I also added Glossy accents to as I thought that skis ought to be plastic and shiny!
(Right? I don´t ski myself and I just took a wild guess here!)

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Holiday tags!

2016-11-13 18:29 | 1 kommentarer

I have been making a lot of tags lately! Love the size and the simplicity of them!
Today I share a set of tags that I colored the other day for the 30 Day Color Challenge. If you follow me on Instagram you have seen a glimpse of them there already!

The stamp I have used for these tags is Uptown girl "Savannah" from Stampingbella. I kind of like  cropping an image to make it fit a small tag, the result being so different from stamping the whole image on to a card.

I always make my tags "double", that is one tag with the image and one tag where you can write your message. The main reason is that the Copic markers I use to color the images bleeds through the paper, there for the need of two layers of cardsstock! But I also really like it when you write your message separately. With Glossy accents added to the Christmas ornaments and gold glitter glue on the tree, I wanted to embellish these tags some more to make them super festive and added gold bows to the ribbons!

Christmas pandas!

2016-11-08 22:55 | 0 kommentarer

Day 8 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, hosted by lovely Kathy!
For today´s card I have played with the cutest of pandas!

These little pandas, from the "Furry Pandas" set from Paperie Ink are so adorable! The cutest ever! Very little coloring on the pandas, just two shades of grey, that´s all!

The trees and the background a little more coloring though!  For the background and snowy sky I used the "falling snow" stencil from Simon Says Stamp, some Versamark emboss ink, clear embossing powder and my heat tool for heat embossing. When dry I blended Distress inks for the background in colors tumbled glass, broken china, salty ocean and chipped saphire. I think I could have gone a little bit more dark in the upper corners and next time I will add a light touch of black soot also.

The trees are from the "On thin ice" set from Clearly Besotted. For the stiched borders ( the snowy slopes!) I used one of the dies from the "Landscape trio" die set from Mama Elephant.

All coloring on the images made using Copic markers, I added some Stickles on the trees, for some sparkle! Sentiment stamp and the hat (borrowed from one of the mice) are also from the "On thin ice" set!

Angel card!

2016-11-06 22:50 | 0 kommentarer

I never get tired of this Angel stamp, I keep using her on my Christmas cards year after year. I only change the color of her skin, her hair and her dress. The only thing I don´t change is her glittery wings! Of course she can be used for other occasions than Christmas too, but so far that is what I have done!

This beautiful angel stamp is called "Celestina Angel" from Kraftin´Kimmie Stamps. I particularly love three things about this stamp, the size, the face , and the hair! She is not too detailed wich I sometimes find hard to color when an image has too many, too small details. And she looks like she is spreading kindness and happiness!

I originally thought of a red dress for her this time, but I changed my mind to a soft green instead, to go with the red-ish color of her hair.

I colored her with Copic markers, added some Stickles to her wings to make them really glittery and sparkly! I have used a stiched die, from the die set "small stiched square stackables" from Lawn Fawn.

Day 1 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!

2016-11-01 20:12 | 0 kommentarer

Today is November 1st and the start of a new 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by the amazing Kathy! I am prepared with some new stamps ready to ink up!

I am so happy I finally got to add these little cuties to my supply! Instant love the first time I laid my eyes on them!

This stamp set "Meow + You" is from Paperie Ink! Seven different kittens plus some extras including the sweetest mice!

Colored with Copic markers, the tag die is from Bo Bunny "Nested Terrific Tag Dies" set. The sentiment stamp (meaning thank you) is from an older stamp set from Reprint.

Mypop on Etsy!

2016-10-25 23:09 | 0 kommentarer

As from Wednesday of last week you can find my cards and tags on Etsy! Head over to Etsy and search mypieceofpaper. Or click on the link here! I ship world wide!

In my shop you´ll find lots of different cards and tags, cute, fun, whimsical, fancy and elegant. But sometimes cute and whimsical are not what you are looking for, for a special occasion that calls for something a little more elegant and CAS as these Feather note cards.

For these elegant note cards I have used a Next Generation embossing folder from We R Memory keepers and a beautiful feather stamp from Clearly Besotted.

I heat embossed the feather, and made these note cards in a variety of colors like bright pink, silver, gold, aqua and black.

Over the hill at 50!

2016-10-17 23:17 | 0 kommentarer

This is a birthday card, a custom order I made a few weeks back! I usually do not want to publish a post about a card that I know has not yet been given to its recipient, I prefer to wait until I know it has been delivered!

The requests for this card; this particular stamp, pastel colors and name and year on the front of the card.

This is an older stamp, which I go back to again and again as it is very versatile. It´s from the á la Mode collection by My Favorite Things. I like to apply a coat of Glossy accents to the glass to make it look like glass! The letters are from the "Moxie" alpabeth by QuicKutz, I like the size of the letters as they are fairly small and often fits on a 6x6" card as long as the words aren´t too long!

To get the letters to be positioned straight I put the letters on my desk, the way I want them to show on the card and then put a strip of low tack adhesive tape to the front of them. ( You have to act quick as you don´t want any of the letters to move around!) Then I  apply glue to the back of the letters and position them onto the card and carefully peel of the tape.

I love the soft colors and pattern of this patterned paper and it is so much fun to use the paper piecing technique as here on the dress! This is my take on a CAS kind of card, not too busy but with lots of details! Not much coloring on this one as I didn´t need to color the dress, but where I did color I used Copic markers, and I outlined the image with dots of different shades of grey and pink for a softer look!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
