Merry Making Day 4!

Merry Making

Day four of the Online Card Classes Merry Making! Today was all about Die cutting, and again I did not have any of the items required to make the cards showcased in class. But I was so inspired by Nichole´s card and this is my take on it!

At first I thought to myself that I wouldn´t be able to participate this day either, but then I started to think...I do have reindeer stamps and trees, I can make slopes using my border dies, a background with falling snow and a moon is easy to make using distress inks and a circle die! Well, no die cutting except for the slopes and the moon, but I am so happy with how this card turned out anyway!

The reindeer stamps and the trees are from the "Let´s prance" and the "On thin ice" sets from Clearly Besotted, colored with Copic markers!

The background is made using Distress inks in colors Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire, this is the combo I usually use for winter skies! To make the falling snow, I dabbed a wet brush over my Distress inked panel in order to create some droplets. On top of the droplets I used the "Falling snow" stencil from Simon Says Stamp, Versa Mark Ink and white embossing powder from Ranger and heat embossed it with my heat tool!

Last week I signed up for a Christmas Card Swap over at Kit and Clowder, I have
decided that I am going to send this card to my "Christmas Card Swap Friend"!

I am about to start making my Christmas Cards for this year, and I will be making a few extra, if you would like a chance to recieve a Christmas card from me, please e-mail me your adress! I will pick five persons randomly, internationals welcome!

Merry Making Day 3!

Merry Making

Day 3 of the Online Card Classes Merry Making. I didn´t make any card for day 2 as I didn´t have any of the items used in class or even something similar. But great tips and tricks were shared and I especially loved Jennifer´s cards!

Today´s card was inspired by Gina K.

The feathers from Clearly Besotted and the sentiment stamp from Stampendous were heat embossed, I used a warm gold embossing powder from Ranger.

I wanted to add something more to my very CAS card and I tried a gold ribbon and a bow as Gina did on one of her cards, but eventually added some sequins instead!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Tag You´re It! Challenge #74!

Grab Our Badge for Your Blog

This is my very first time playing along the Tag You´re It! Challenge,
and the inspiration photo is this...

My inspiration when making my tag was the black and white stripes and of course
the color combination of black and white and the pop of red!
I love adding stripes to any project of mine, cards or tags!

For this tag I have used my favorite little Elf from the Birdie Brown " Santa´s Elves" set from My Favorite Things! I just colored him " black and white" and let his buttons and the Christmas tree ornament pop in bright red, using Copic markers! The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

To add to the theme I attached a red ribbon and a black and white striped twine bow!

The striped part is a strip of tape (washi maybe?!) from Heidi Swapp,
my best HS purchase ever!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Merry Making Day 1!

Merry Making

First day of the new class "Merry Making", from Online Card Classes!

For today´s homework I chose to go for the card Kristina made, with a few
twists as I didn´t have all the supplies she used when making her card.

So... this is my take on it. It was so much fun making this background and the circles/bubbles! Even though I didn´t use watercolor paper it turned out pretty well. It warped a little when heat setting it with the heat gun but I adhered the panel using some extra strips of double sided tape.

I have two different kinds of snow flake stamps, one smaller and one bigger, looking pretty much the same, Kristina used three different snow flakes inn various sizes
and shapes for her card and it looked so beautiful.
That might be something I will consider to add to my collection of stamps for
next year, more snow flake stamps, in different sizes and shapes!

The snow flakes, from Inkido and the sentiment, from the "Christmas Wishes" set from Stampendous were heat embossed using white and clear embossing powder. I added a black mat to frame my panel and added it to a light turquoise card base.

Reindeer tags!

Last fall I almost purchased this adorable stamp set "Let´s prance" from Clearly Besotted,
but at the last minute I changed my mind and I have regretted that decision ever since.

A few weeks ago Clearly Besotted had a sale...and now, here they are!

The trees come from another stamp set, "On thin ice" also from Clearly Besotted.

I have inked a very soft and subtle blue sky using Distress Ink, in Tumbled Glass,
behind the trees and the reindeer.

The reindeer and the trees are colored with Copic markers, I added some Stickles
glitter glue to the trees to get a snowy sparkle!

The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is also from the "On thin ice" set.

Vampire card, red details!

2017-09-24 22:36 | 0 kommentarer

I have had so much fun playing with Mr. Dracula making both cards and tags.
This is my latest card, made with red details this time!

This super adorable vampire stamp comes from the "Dracula I compel you" set
from Whimsy Stamps.

I really like his little bat balloon/friend on the string! I colored the eyes a little bit different on this card compared to the tags and I like this technique better! Using the colorless blender made the red turn into blood shot eyes! And by adding Glossy Accents they look spooktacular! I also added a layer of Glossy to the bat as well!

All coloring is made using Copic markers, and lots of colorless blender!

Thank you for stopping by, wishing you a great week!

Pink circle card!

Today I share a card, using a stamp I have used many times before, Uptown Girls "Victoria and Juliette" from Stampingbella. And I thought I´d share my work progress when making this card!

This was actually my coloring from day 14 of the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge, I was really pleased with how the folds on their dresses turned out so I decided to keep going and make a card out of my coloring! My idea for this card was to incorporate a circle...

At first I wasn´t sure if I was even going to keep their legs, but I decided to
keep going and color them!

I stamped the image again, this time on masking paper, to create a mask, but without their legs as I was putting the circle behind their torsos. I then cut out a circle using masking paper.

Using Distress Inks I blended my circle, darker behind the girls and lighter
towards the edge of the circle.

As I didn´t cut every detail out in my masking paper, some areas were left white...

...I then filled in these white areas with Copic markers in similar colors!

I am really happy that I decide to save their legs!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Vampire tags!

I have made some tags, using the cute vampire from the "Dracula I compel You" set
from Whimsy Stamps. I have had this pink idea on my mind and of course I had to make
it in red as well!

I tried to make him extra spooky by making his eyes really blood shot and then
applied some Glossy Accent to them!

Not much coloring on Mr. Vampire except his cape, a little grey to his skin and
some color on his bat friend!

Where I did color, I used Copic Markers!

Tiny dogs & bubbles!

2017-09-04 23:01 | 0 kommentarer

When making this card I had soap bubbles on my mind!

To make the bubbles I punched a hole in an full adhesive post-it note to use as a mask,
then using a blending tool, and very gently inked from the edges of the hole with
Distress Ink, yellow, pink and blue. I let the bubbles overlap each other.
I colored the dogs with Copic markers!

In each of the bubbles I stamped a tiny dog from the " Little Dog Agenda" set
from Mama Elephant. To finish off the card I stamped "Hello" to make the card
a bit more versatile to go with many occasions rather than a birthday card.

Freshly Made Sketches 303!

It has been quite a while since I participated in a challenge, so this week I am playing
along in the "for fun" challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches!

Above is the sketch and below is my take on the card!

I have been playing with some of the cats from the "BB Cool Cat" set by
My Favorite Things for this challenge.

I never get tired of these cats, this is probably one of my most used stamp sets!

The cats are colored with Copic Markers. All these blank spaces can feel a bit
overwhelming but at the same time I like the Clean & Simple look!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Vampire card with pink & black flowers!

2017-08-27 22:40 | 0 kommentarer

I knew I wanted this Vampire stamp the minute I laid my eyes on him, I just had
to add him to my collection of stamps! I never send Halloween cards myself, but I guess
that will change this year!

Mr. Dracula is from the stamp set "Dracula I compel You", from Whimsy Stamps, this set also comes with lots of different sentiments and some bats as well!

The flowers are made of "Foamiran", a 0.6 mm thick foam, easy to craft with and shapeable. These flowers weren´t shaped in any way, I just cut them out using a punch and attached them to the card with some brads! The Foamiran comes in so many colors and is also purhased from Whimsy Stamps. Anyone have some tips on how to sharpen punches, please let me know!

Not a lot of coloring required on Mr. Dracula, just his cape, eyes and his bat. And some grey markers for the face! I tried some different techniques on the blood shut eyes, all cool in their own ways but this is my favorite that I will stick to! The background is colored with Copic markers, the darkest is C5, down to C1 and I used the colorless blender to get that dirty grey splotchy look and feel.

You can´t tell from the photos but I added some Glossy Accents to his eyes,
to make them pop and shine!

I love that the bat is tied to a string like a balloon!

Cats & dogs!

2017-08-20 20:20 | 0 kommentarer

For this birthday card I have once again been playing with some of the tiny cats and dogs
from the "Little cat agenda" and the "Little dog agenda" sets from Mama Elephant,
by mixing them! Often I think to make only cat cards or only dog cards, as I think
that people are cat persons or dog persons, but for
this card I just wanted to have some of each and mixed them up!

I have colored the furry friends with Copic markers. The paw print stamp is from
the "Puppy" set from Paperie Ink.

As I wanted this card to be neutral and not too girly, I skipped the glitter on this!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Mermaid card!

2017-08-15 19:57 | 0 kommentarer

I have seen so many cute mermaid cards on Instagram lately, I was so inspired I had to bring out
my own mermaid stamp "Arianna" by Annie Rodrigue and Kraftin´ Kimmie Stamps
and make one too!

I colored her and the sea horses with Copic markers, the background is made using
Distress Inks and droplets of water.

I also added a few drops of Glossy Accents to make some shiny bubbles!
It is a bit hard to see but her tail is really shimmery as I added a few
layers of Wink of Stella!

After uploading my pictures of the images I colored from the pipe folds lesson for feedback from Alyce, (the sweetest and most talented coloring instructor ever!), I have taken her advice to experiment and color two dresses with the same blend, but change up how big the shadows vs. highlight ratio is in each one.

I actually have a lot of C markers, here I have used C7-C5-C4-C3-C2 and C1 and it really
is easier when you have more markers then three when it comes to blending.

I think I was stressing when coloring the one to the left (a few days ago),  coloring today on the dress on the right I went back over and over and over with my markers to really blend and I wasn´t afraid to use my darkest marker much more.

The same goes for these grey dresses, the left one was colored a few days ago and the one on the right was colored today and I really let it take time.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!
